Gifts of IRA Assets
Please consider making a gift to the AWHS with a distribution directly from your Individual Retirement Account (IRA). Americans over age 70½ can distribute up to $100,000 per calendar year from an IRA, tax-free. For those obligated to take a Required Minimum Distribution (RMD), this Qualified Charitable Distribution (QCD) to the AWHS or other qualified organization counts toward your RMD but would not be included in your gross income for tax purposes.
Gifts of Personal Property
Many of the items in our collection have been given to us by individuals who want to share something of historical importance. You may own a Woodbridge artifact that will help us to preserve the experiences of your ancestors while educating others about some facet of Woodbridge's past.
Please Note: The AWHS can only accept items with a direct relationship to the town of Woodbridge or of Amity Parish.
Please consider making a bequest to the Amity & Woodbridge Historical Society. If the AWHS is in your estate plans or if you are considering naming the AWHS as a beneficiary of your retirement plan, please let us know!
